Our testers tried out a variety of three-wheel and beginner scooters, while parents assessed sturdiness, adjustability and ease of use. These are the 2025 winners.

Our child testers focused on speed, appearance and ride excitement, while parents considered adjustability, safety and durability. Here are the scooters that stood out in 2025.

Why: This stylish and lightweight balance bike is suitable from 18 months to 5 years,
thanks to its full range seat height adjustment. Our judges loved the real, air-filled, rubber tyres, which made for a smooth, safe and comfortable ride as well as the multitude of safety features such as anti – jackknife steering, child size handlebars and integrated foot rests. Also much admired were the thoughtful details such as a carry handle on the frame, personalised number plates and over 40 different sticker designs that are fully interchangeable, so that each child can make their bike truly their own. In addition to all this, Liferyder is committed to sustainability and this is demonstrated by the fact that every component of the Vogue balance bike is recyclable and replaceable!

WINNER - SCOOTER MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR 2023: LIFERYDER LTD
Based in the East Riding of Yorkshire, LIFERYDER is a scooter (D2C) manufacturing business owned and managed by two dads, Allan and Chris. The partners first met as engineering apprentices at British Aerospace and have extensive experience in the precision engineering and manufacturing industry. Uninspired by the scooter choices available, they set out to make a new scooter, one that was “Made in the UK” and built to last with the ability to grow and change with the rider’s individuality.
Drawing inspiration from their children, Allan and Chris have designed, developed and patented the LIFERYDER Infinity kid’s scooter using recyclable composite materials. This durable and eco-friendly big wheel scooter is suitable for children between the ages of five and 15 years, and allows them to enjoy the physical benefits of riding a scooter while also promoting an environmentally-conscious mentality. The Infinity kid’s scooter has been designed to be fully adjustable for riders between 110 and 160cm tall and with a maximum weight of 50kg, making it an ideal choice for children within the target age group. Additionally, the scooter’s design is customisable, and graphics can be easily replaced and “switched up” as the child grows.

WHY: This scooter got a lot of love from our judges who all admired the cool design, the sturdy but lightweight frame and the all-terrain wheels. When the panel discovered that these stylish scooters are designed and produced here in the UK and are all the work of a small, two family run business, they were amazed. Every detail has been well thought out with this scooter and the fact that it’s foldable and suitable for children all the way through, from 5 to 15 years, really impressed. Perhaps the most exciting feature though, is that these wheels are fully customisable and each scooter comes with over 35 different graphics for you to stick onto the frame for a totally unique look. The stickers can then be peeled off and replaced when the rider wants a brand new vibe. Genius!

What it is: A 2-wheeled, lean-to-steer foldable scooter made in the UK from recyclable plastic composite material with 12″ off-road wheels and inflatable tyres made from recycled rubber. Features 3 handlebar height settings, a 13cm-wide foot deck and rear brake. Suitable for children between 110 and 160cm tall who weigh between 20 and 50kg. Why we love it: This sturdy scooter can handle all kinds of tough terrain, riding fast and smooth over cobblestones, grass and even wet sand thanks to large wheels and air-filled tyres. The price tag is high but this scooter has great longevity: the height-adjustable handlebar and easy-to-change graphics that cover the frame, forks and spokes will ensure it fits your child and looks fresh for years. Plus, every part of the scooter is replaceable. It does require assembly and tools to adjust and fold, but the tools are included and instructions are clear. Holly, mum of our child tester Evie, 7, said: “My daughter loves this scooter and this is her preferred choice over her bike and another scooter she has.
